The Space Systems Architect Division works with elements across the Space Systems Integration Office, SSC Chief Information Office and Department of the Air Force cryptographic support offices to provide cross-program integration, engineering, and architecting support for Space Systems Command and the United States Space Force. The Cyber Architectures & Integration team is passionate about cyberspace, including cybersecurity, program protection, cryptography, key management, data governance & architecting; information technology, software, and resilient design for space systems.

Work Model: Telework of up to 3 days a week is possible depending on the needs of the customer.

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Coordinating the establishment and implementation of cryptographic and cybersecurity requirements for space programs
  • Identifying and mitigating risks in the implementation or certification of cryptography and other cyber solutions for space systems.
  • Bringing together the resolution of issues across the Space Force, CCSD, NSA, and other Department of Defense components and agencies
  • Budget planning supporting the procurement of cryptographic products
  • Review and validation of NSA service requests
  • Review of space system key management plans
  • Developing security risk assessments and completing other systems engineering tasks as assigned

What You Need to Be Successful - Project Engineer

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited technical program in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science or other applicable degree
  • Six years of relevant professional experience in scientific or engineering positions
  • Experience with systems engineering and architecting of cybersecurity solutions or cryptographic products
  • Experience with systems engineering subject areas, including requirements engineering, verification, test, and/or risk management
  • Willing to travel periodically, as needed
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances, which are issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to acquire a security clearance

What You Need to Be Successful - Senior Project Engineer

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited technical program in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science or other applicable degree
  • Ten years of relevant professional experience in scientific or engineering positions
  • Six or more years of experience with systems engineering and architecting of cybersecurity solutions or cryptographic products
  • Experience with systems engineering fields, including requirements engineering, verification, test, and/or risk management
  • Significant leadership experience in engineering and technical roles
  • Willing to travel periodically, as needed
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances, which are issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to acquire a security clearance

How You Can Stand Out

  • Accredited degree or certificate in information systems security or equivalent program
  • Direct support or leading cryptographic certification efforts
  • Track record in designing and integrating crypto solutions for satellites
  • Experience with space acquisition policies, processes, and/or budgeting
  • Work with diverse space systems and missions
  • Digital engineering, MBSE, or architecture processes and tools experience
