Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Residence

The Clinical Counselor in Residence provides direct in-person and remote clinical services to UMA students through short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals on the Augusta campus and online.  The counselor in-residence lives full time in a suite in the residential halls in Hallowell, ME. This unique role combines traditional clinical counseling responsibilities with residential life involvement through some on call coverage, providing essential support to our student population.

Qualifications

Required:
 

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related discipline
• Ability to provide required on-call coverage and live in UMA residence hall
• Clinical counseling license eligible

Preferred:
 

• Experience working with college students or in an educational setting 
• Awareness of student development stages for both traditional-age and non-traditional-age students

Salary:  The normal hiring salary range for this position is in the low to high $50's and is commensurate with training, education, and experience and will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion. The cost of housing in Erskine Hall or designated hall will be included in the compensation package.

This position will work eleven months of the year.
