Job Description

In this role, the Director, Manufacturing Strategy Project Management will be responsible for alignment, execution, and benefit realization of cross-functional projects that are necessary to deliver the Manufacturing Operations Strategy and meet our financial goals. This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring the portfolio of projects are prioritized, staffed, and aligned across operations so that our teams are efficiently used to achieve our Business Outcomes. 

Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team tasked with managing cross-functional project teams to accelerate optimization of end-to-end business impact across all brands, regions, and functions in FBIN Operations & Supply Chain organization. 
  • Execute a portfolio of strategic footprint transformation initiatives (plant/line transitions, buy-to-make, process and equipment changes) while collaborating on NPI’s as needed.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to mitigate costs as the landscape of tariffs evolve over time.
  • Work with/lead groups to ensure project financials and scoping information is properly analyzed and documented prior to project signoff/kickoff.
  • Manage the portfolio prioritization of opportunities across operations with leadership.
  • Maintain and create standard work, processes, reports, & tools needed for best-in-class projects management for operations.
  • Be the Operations point of contact for the business on new opportunities to drive the business forward.
  • Align Commercial-Development strategies & projects with operations capabilities.
  • Provide fast triage and support to understand and resolve critical issues.
  • Help identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and MES resources through interactions with groups and pull in those specific teams for support.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement activity by mapping processes, identifying waste, and acting in areas where opportunity exists to better satisfy customers across the enterprise.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role leading complex strategic initiatives across manufacturing & operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in operations roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading cross functional project teams through the project life cycle.
  • Excellent project management skills with a drive for results and ability to manage complexity & ambiguity.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic initiatives in data and systems, collaborate across all levels of the organization, and build relationships with internal teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is required.
  • Project Management certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Lean certification is preferred, but not required.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $124,000 USD - $190,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
