The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity.

The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives.

The primary function of this position is to provide a high level of professional expertise to a complex multi-program survey process. 

This process will include State licensure requirements of certain health care facilities and programs in Florida and also certification requirements for participation under Medicare/ Medicaid.

Survey types may include but not be limited to certification, licensure, complaints, monitoring and revisits.

The incumbent may be required to perform these duties as team coordinator or individually. 

When serving on multi-person team, the incumbent will primarily serve as a team coordinator. 

At the discretion of Field Office Management, the incumbent in the position is required to complete the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test as required by Sections 1819(g)(2)(C)(ii) of the Social Security Act, as amended, and Article IV(B) of the Agreement pursuant to Section 1864 of the Social Security Act. 

 

Participates in surveys of health care facilities/ programs to determine compliance with State and Federal regulations, in accordance with procedures set forth by CMS and the State of Florida. 

Coordinates with the team members in the survey process, as assigned. 

Performs survey tasks, documents findings, and prepares reports concerning regulatory compliance and makes recommendations for plans of corrective action, as appropriate. 

 

Performs follow-up visits to evaluate correction of deficiencies within mandated time frames, conducts complaint investigations and monitoring surveys

 

Assist Field Office management with review of survey work as assigned.

 

Serves on special committees, tasks forces and special projects as assigned. 

Participates in required training, as assigned; this includes as a participant or trainer, as determined by Field Office Management. 

Participates in informal or formal legal proceedings related to survey work, as assigned. 

This may include informal dispute resolutions.

 

This position has been identified as mission essential. 

The incumbent in this position may be required to work during the weekend or on holidays. 

In addition, mission essential personnel will be required to work during disasters, to include but not limited to, work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. 

Emergency work may involve the incumbent to work in another county or staffing location to assist other State Agencies with emergency work. 

Emergency duties may include, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

 

The incumbent must also be available to work before and after normal work hours including weekends and holidays.
