Richland County Treasurer's Office Cashier
The Treasury Cashier daily responsibilities includes but are not limited to accepting tax payments and issuing receipts for the County’s tax bills by means of cash, check or credit card transactions. Cashiers are responsible for balancing and reconciling their transactions daily. Cashiers must have strong communication skills both oral and written as well as the ability to maintain a pleasant, courteous and professional demeanor while working with the public.
Performs routine clerical duties as required, including but not limited to copying and filing documents, entering and retrieving computer data, sending and receiving faxes, assembling materials, processing mail, etc.
Answers the telephone; provides accurate information and assistance to callers and/or forwards calls to appropriate personnel; takes messages as necessary; greets and assists office visitors.
Provides professional and courteous customer service at all times; provides information and assistance regarding accounts and division policies and procedures; responds to inquiries, requests, concerns and complaints in areas of responsibility.
Prepares, types, processes, copies, files, sends and/or transmits various documents,.
Balances daily transactions; runs edit reports.
Releases records to authorized individuals in accordance with established guidelines.
Attends training, meetings, seminars and/or workshops as required to enhance job knowledge and skills.
