AP Manager, Front End and Investigations

 

 

Job Purpose

This role will be the lead subject matter expert on SEG’s point-of-sale (POS) exception monitoring program (Appriss) that identifies suspect transactions and adjustments leading to inventory shrink, cash and other margin losses or Sales Reducing Activities (SRA). This position will be responsible for aggregating SRA activity and investigation findings, as well as developing methods to detect and resolve future exposure. This position will also lead department efforts with creating business cases, complete with Return on Investment (ROI) modeling, to implement POS and other business controls to measurably decrease exposure.

Responsible owner for capability development of the Appriss POS exception program. Build systemic programs, dashboards and reports and alerting that proactively identifies fraudulent theft activity occurring across the enterprise. As the primary manager of this program, lead routine calls with Appriss development team to enhance system abilities. Conduct validation exercises to ensure data input and outputs are correct and providing accurate, actionable intelligence.  Continuously monitor and adjust software theft detection metrics, communicating enhancements to the AP Field, Operations teams, and other systems users. Consistently track and report out on enhancements to demonstrate effectiveness as measured by identified activity and amount saved through implemented controls.

Aggregate POS, cash, checks, lottery and inventory data from various systems (Appriss, OBIP, etc) to identify intentional and un-intentional sales-reducing activity drivers which lead to shrink, cash and other margin erosion. Meet with Asset Protection, Store Operations, Finance, Accounting, Internal Audit and other department leadership to develop recommendations for controls to be placed to prevent future losses.

Lead high-profile corporate investigations involving theft or fraud, assigning field resources to resolve, based off evidence gathering, and evidence preservation. Responsible for the Asset Protection Alert process notifying stores of external theft / fraud activity. Lead the AP Specialist – Front End to conduct analysis on all front-end investigations by SSC and AP Field Staff to ensure investigations and cases are collecting control breakdowns. Assess and update existing fields in the department case management and investigations system (APIN) to assist with collecting data to guide business decisions. Responsible for the strategic usage of the Appriss POS exception program by store and AP Operations center.

As a member of the Asset Protection Operations Center, assist with events and critical incident response occurring at store and SSC sites. Provide CCTV video or photo extracts along with incident summaries to Department and Executive Leadership as required.
