*This position is an Ohio based field position. Travel will be required 2 times per month to Indiana.   

We are growing and expanding our portfolio in Columbus, OH with 4 brand new sites. Kittle Property Group is looking for a Project Engineer to join our hardworking, dedicated team in the Midwest. 


 
        

POSITION SUMMARY:     Responsible for the completion of engineering and construction projects by planning, organizing and controlling all elements of the project. The project engineer supervises all development and implementation of a project. He/she also oversees development and property management upgrades/ changes and is actively involved in any other project-related work as needed and directed by the Sr. Project Manager. Is also responsible to manage onsite stored material inventory, assist Sr. Project Superintendent with schedule management, issuing RFIs and reviewing Submittals.          ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:     
  • Assists at job site location with direction from the on-site Sr. Project Superintendent.
  • May be asked, on occasion, to assist in unloading and receiving materials being shipped to the site.
  • Collect the model #’s of the material being installed and cross reference with the specs called out via prints or spec book.
  • Managing submittals including F&E logs & manage subcontractor adherence to the submittals.
  • Assist the Sr. Project Manager in reviewing plans and specifications to create scopes of work and execute contracts, on occasion.
  • Managing of project document logs to include RFI's, Submittals, Transmittals, Bills of Lading – delivery tickets, site document maintenance, including current plans and ASI documents.
  • Assist in managing Owner and Architect correspondence including OAC meetings and creating of minutes.
  • Managing project close out, warranties, lien releases, punch list items, attic stock products and key
  • Assist the Sr. Project Manager on all aspects of the project financially including contracts, projections, billings etc. as needed or requested by the Sr. Project Manager.
  • Prepares and distributes a description and timeline of the project as directed by the Sr. Site Superintendent and/or the Sr. Project Manager.
  • Prepares status reports and regularly monitors dumpsters, rentals, storage units, general labor), subcontractors and schedules. Allocates project resources appropriately. Keeps an accurate record and electronic data base of all elements of the projects as required or requested.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and productive field office environment through enforcing procedures. Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with state and federal regulations, required by OSHA and the local building department.
  • Prepares a detailed procurement log that corresponds to the project schedule and tracks the materials for the project in line with the needs of the project schedule to ensure a positive, uninterrupted work flow. This also requires contacting subcontractors and suppliers frequently to follow up and reconfirm or adjust delivery dates as needed.
  • Prepares unit turn to management acceptance sheets, attends unit walk inspections with property management and creates punch lists as required and follow up with direct communication to Sr. Project Manager, Sr. Site Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents throughout the unit acceptance process. 
  • Attends scheduling meetings and maintains the white board 3 week look ahead with input provided by the Sr. Site Superintendent and Sr. Project Manager.
  • Attends field meeting as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS     
  • College degree in construction management, engineering or related field, preferred.
  • Should demonstrate knowledge in building principles, practices and methods, environmental regulations, project management methods and workplace safety.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; ProCore software preferred
  • Ability to read and follow construction plans and diagrams
  • Excellent communication skills a must, both verbal and written
  • Must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment on the construction site. 
  • Planned and scheduled travel to multiple, same region job sites wil
