We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to fill the role of EHS Specialist. This full-time, 1st shift position is based in Rockledge, FL, and offers an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to a culture built on quality, integrity, and teamwork.
This position will provide full-time environmental, health and safety responsibilities for Essential Cabinetry Group located in Rockledge, FL., ensuring that practices are in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other local and federal agencies, and is responsible for all regulatory programs and permit applications. This position will also develop and administer all EHS strategy and create and coordinate programs to strive for a "zero injury" culture.
Requirements

- Coach department managers and supervisors on trends discovered and unsafe behaviors observed.
- Engage with front-line employees to create trust and understanding of safety processes and strategies.
- Analyze incident history, behavioral trends, hazard reports, and plant audits to create plant improvement strategies.
- Investigate incidents (injury, near-miss, property damage) and perform root cause analysis.
- Assign, follow-up, and assure implementation of action items which result from incidents.
- Coordinate with Workers Compensation Agency regarding incidents which result in medical treatment.
- Hazardous material training and tracking (communications, chemical hygiene, work implementation planning)
- Track and update SDS and waste profile records pertaining to new chemicals and hazardous waste.
- Schedule and manage Safety Ambassador Teams; involve individuals to continue to develop and improve.
- Host ongoing trainings or post-incident, departmental stand downs for small and large groups pertaining to OSHA 29 CFR 1910 & NAICS 337110 safety expectations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of documented EHS experience OR 6 years of increasing EHS responsibilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; competent in speaking to all levels of organization.
- Must be able to develop positive working relationships with all employees.
- Thorough understanding of Federal and State EHS regulations
Working Relationship
Communication is required across all levels of the organization – executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates and production floor workers. The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist works under the immediate supervision of the VP of Human Resources.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires constant physical effort both inside and outside of an air-conditioned environment.
- Must be able to lift/move in excess of 50 lbs. at a time
- Stand, walk, stoop, and perform motions for an extended period of time.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; days and hours of work may vary depending on business demands. Weekends & overtime as required by department.
Safety
This position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all require protective personal equipment (PPE). Specifically, eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
