Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant II will provide Administrative support to the AN II Manager, Unit Director, and the Administrative Nurse Team. The Administrative Assistant II is responsible for providing and maintaining an organized, smooth functioning, and efficient office environment to ensure maximum services are rendered. Other duties include, but are not limited to, greeting patients/visitors, customer relations, area coordination, patient record maintenance, office/unit operations, automated data maintenance, training of clerical staff, and performing other duties as required.

The Administrative Assistant II will perform the duties and tasks for the Santa Monica Hospital GI/MPU and the Outpatient GI suite.

  • Knowledge of computer fundamentals: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams  
  • Ability to understand oral and written directives 
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations  
  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely manner 
  • Recent Administrative Assistant experience (preferred)
