Job Description
Our award-winning AECOM Sports and Venues practice is seeking a Senior Architectural Project Architect for immediate employment based in either of our three offices, located in Kansas City, MO, Los Angeles, CA and New York, NY. The candidate is to lead and execute interdisciplinary projects with a focus on Sports, and Public Assembly, including professional and collegiate arenas, stadia and coliseums, recreation centers.

This studio sized practice focuses its work on everything from performance and development facilities to primary competition venues, ranging anywhere from small collegiate clients to the largest of professional leagues and franchises. Position Overview:
Working closely with the Sports Practice Leader, you'll work with talented teams of architects, championing creative solutions that redefine spaces, enhance communities, and align with our commitment to innovation and sustainability. Your leadership and acumen will shape projects that resonate with clients, inspire our teams, and leave a lasting positive impact.
Job Summary/Responsibilities
The role in partnership with the Studios Practice Director and/or Project Manager(s), you will lead a team, or multiple teams, in the design and technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projects.
- Supporting the pursuit of exciting new projects
- Prepare design and contract drawings using advanced design software tools
- Develop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems
- Oversee the work of more junior designers and architects
- Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants
- Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field +8 years of relevant experience in all phases of projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered architectural licensed is preferred
- NCARB registration is desired
- Experience managing a group ranging in size from a team of 5-15 architects, designers and/or consultants, coordinating activities of the project and held accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the design and/or construction management activities and the management of project personnel under her/his direction on a day-today basis.
- 10+ years of project experience in an sports architectural firm.
- Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite
- Collegiate and professional sports and recreation design experience
