Job Description

As an Automation and Validation Staff Software Engineer - Branch Connector, you will play a crucial role in validating and automating the test cases for the  ZScaler Zero Trust Branch Connector applications. The Zero Trust Branch Connector provides Zero Trust Security for users and application traffic originating from a remote branch to internet, cloud or another remote branch or data center. The Branch Connector eliminates the network attack surface by establishing direct branch-to-internet and branch-to-private app connections using a full proxy architecture. It also simplifies branch communications by eliminating complex routing, virtual private networks (VPNs), and firewalls while allowing for flexible forwarding and simple policy management by using the proven Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) policy framework.

You will be expected to :

• Design, Develop, Test enhancements and Automate the features for Zscaler ZT Workloads Products and Zscaler Cloud Platform.
• Write Design Doc, feature, system and solution test plans, and implement automation using automated testing frameworks.
• Enhance existing automated test Infrastructure.
• Implement the automation of feature, systems and solution test cases.
• Come up with ways to increase the automation coverage and decrease the customer found defects in the product.
• Perform interop testing with different vendors for SD-WAN, IPsec and GRE solutions.
• Perform validation of various core dataplane features e.g. Routing protocols like OSPF, IBGP, EBGP, VRF, SD-WAN, Management of CPE devices,
• Recreate complex customer and production reported issues to determine root cause and address it.
• Work with remote teams,  prioritize and meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Excellent programming skills using Python 
• 6+ years of overall experience, with 2 to 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer in a networking and security related field.
• Strong hands-on experience on SD-WAN Platforms.
• Strong hands-on knowledge in managing and networking of the devices on AWS, Azure or GCP Platform.
• Strong hands-on experience in troubleshooting networking issues using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, curl, wget etc.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and services - DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS
• Experience in security technologies like firewall, IPS, Authentication and networking technologies like VPN/IPSec and data plane traffic forwarding 
• Good Unix/Linux Kernel & file system knowledge
• Good working experience in virtual appliance platforms like ESXi Hypervisor, KVM infra 
• Experience with network control-plane protocols like DHCP, VRRP, CARP

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range$147,000—$210,000 USD
