The purpose of the SNAP-Ed Program Assistant is to provide general administrative assistance to the SNAP-Ed program through tracking class attendance and participant enrollment, preparing program reports according to deadline, and assisting SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educators with class preparation, instruction, and assessment as needed.   

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Track class attendance and other data needed in PEARS reporting system and Excel for reporting in an organized and timely manner.
  • Prepare accurate, quality documents, reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Assist with budget tracking
  • Maintain well organized program file documentation in accordance with contractual standards.
  • Create and maintain participant files and records in electronic and hard-copy form.
  • File progress reports according to program procedures and according to deadline.
  • Maintain program supply inventory list and order class supplies.
  • Promote program through community networking in order to recruit SNAP participants and deliver programs.
  • Assist Nutrition Instructors with class preparation and instruction as needed.

 

Qualifications: 

  • 1-2 years of administrative or related work experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to various locations throughout the community is required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Understanding and appreciation of people on low incomes and ethnic minorities, and ability to relate to them in a respectful and sensitive manner.
