What is a Program Manager - Work & Asset Management?

The Program Manager, Work & Asset Management owns the work and asset management domain within Central Hudson’s Enterprise Transformation Program (ETP) and is accountable for ensuring that platform decisions, build activities, and implementation outcomes deliver measurable improvements in field operations, asset reliability, and operational efficiency. The domain encompasses field service management, work optimization, grid intelligence, and enterprise work and asset management (EWAM). This role serves as the authoritative voice of operations to technical delivery teams and the authoritative voice of the transformation program to operational leadership.

What does a Program Manager - Work & Asset Management do?

  • Accountable for the strategy, execution, and ongoing value of the work and asset management transformation

  • Serves as a change agent for the Enterprise Transformation Program by championing adoption of new work management processes and platforms, helping operational teams transition from current-state workflows to target-state capabilities, and reinforcing the case for change at the frontline level

  • Owns the strategy and roadmap for the work and asset management domain across field service management, EWAM, and the broader work management ecosystem, ensuring alignment with work optimization and grid intelligence priorities

  • Defines and prioritizes platform requirements and build activities, balancing operational value, safety considerations, and technical feasibility to deliver outcomes that improve crew productivity and asset performance

  • Validates platform design decisions against operational reality and leads process-to-system mapping across the domain, identifying gaps between current business processes and target-state capabilities and driving their resolution

  • Develops and maintains domain-specific process documentation including current-state and future-state process maps, workflow diagrams, and integration specifications that anchor decision-making across the program

  • Drives cross-functional alignment with project management, technical architecture, and business leadership during platform build, testing, and implementation, removing barriers and resolving conflicts that threaten delivery outcomes

  • Defines and owns the user acceptance testing strategy for platform builds within the domain, ensuring operational requirements are validated before deployment

  • Leads EWAM vendor evaluation and implementation readiness from the business perspective, defining domain-specific requirements, integration specifications, and lessons learned from prior platform deployments

  • Identifies and owns cross-domain integration requirements between work management platforms and adjacent systems (e.g., GIS, SAP, AMI), facilitating working sessions with operational subject matter experts to capture and resolve dependencies

  • Serves as the primary business process liaison between work domain operational leadership and the ETP, defining and tracking key performance indicators that measure platform adoption, operational value realization, and process maturity

  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and standards relevant to utility field operations and asset management

  • Provides support for storm restoration efforts

What does it take to be a Program Manager - Work & Asset Management?

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in business analysis, business process design, or systems integration within a utility, energy, or similarly complex operational environment.

  • Proven ability to own and drive transformation outcomes from strategy through execution, including roadmap definition, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment

  • Deep working knowledge of work management, field service management, or asset management business processes and supporting technology platforms

  • Demonstrated ability to bridge business and technical stakeholders, translating operational requirements into system specifications and vice versa

  • Strong process orientation with the ability to map, analyze, and redesign business processes in the con
