About the role
Position Summary
Responsible for ensuring the region successfully implements global and local QHSE initiatives, processes, procedures, and systems related to quality, health and safety, environmental, training, ethics, complaints, customer satisfaction, and business contingency.
Major Roles & Responsibilities
- Leads the QHSE function ensuring the locations have a clear understanding of the requirements, and to provide any necessary support including leadership, implementation support, project management support, guidance, or recommendations as appropriate to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
- Represents the QHSE function on calls with division or corporate leaders.
- Leads the Train the Trainer (TTT) program for the region, including providing the training, mentoring, and guidance to regional staff and managing the communication with the Divisional team to ensure the locations have more effective outcomes regarding training to meet objectives.
- Helps locations and functions within the region to develop and implement process improvement initiatives and provide support to the region with implementation and execution of global processes.
- Assists and supports location management, local QA, and others within the region.
- Performs project management of specific initiatives as required.
- Provides support to the region and liaison with division teams regarding the global Scorecards, supports locations to help ensure timely and effective corrective actions.
- Supports investigations to help determine the root cause(s) and mitigate risk. Works with locations to develop appropriate corrective actions.
- Assists locations and functions in the AME region with meeting divisional and regional goals and objectives.
- Conducts quality audits within the region.
- Leads all activities related to internal and external audits including preparation, physical audit, and post audit requirements.
- Assumes lead role in ensuring effective implementation across the region of health, safety and environmental initiatives.
- Fulfils a key mentoring role regarding QHSE functions, training, and related quality and innovation skills required for staff at each location in the region.
- Assists locations with required contingency planning in times of emergencies, disasters, global pandemics or other business risks.
- Performs due diligence audits for potential acquisitions and strategic business partners and responsible for assisting with integration of QHSE for new acquisitions within the region.
- Manages projects on an ad hoc basis as required.
- Follow the guidelines set forth in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Comply with Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong working knowledge and demonstrated ability to interpret Quality systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 17020, ISO Guide 65, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Excellent communication, project management, mentoring, and leadership skills
- Strong knowledge in adult learning principals and an effective presenter and trainer
- Effective problem solving skills and process approach to defining root cause, curative, corrective, and preventive actions
- Strong working knowledge of quality improvement, and Innovation tools
- Strong ability to work effectively with different cultures
- Highly developed analytical skills gained through business management or consultancy experience
- Pragmatic and entrepreneurial in attitude, focused on delivering results, achieved through team collaborative delivery ideally gained in a multicultural environment
- Ability to demonstrate natural authority and make things happen without hierarchical authority
- Understanding and experience associated with all Microsoft Office Products
- Strong knowledge of Lotus Notes
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to ensure timelines are met
- Ability to work independently
- Willing to travel
Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job
- 4 year degree in a related field of study
- 10 years quality systems management experience
- 2 years supervisory experience
- CQE/CQM or demonstrated experience
- Demonstrated experience with customer interface and auditing
- Ideal candidate will be located in CST or EST
