This position serves an Infrastructure Server Engineer, supporting the Illinois State Police (ISP). In this role, you will design, install, and implement complex server engineering relating to the Microsoft Active Directory and the server infrastructure. In addition, you will design, install, implement and manage the Microsoft SCCM product used for software distribution, inventory collection and monitoring of key system resources. In addition, you will design, install, configure and support the Storage Area Network (SAN). Essential Functions
25% Under administrative direction, serves as an Infrastructure Server Engineer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois State Police (ISP):
- Performs advanced technical server and workstation administration and analysis functions including design, installation, configuration, patch management, operating system updates and server backups.
- Creates and manages a test environment to troubleshoot and replicate problems with the production infrastructure.
- Tests procedures and processes that will have an impact on the entire agency, such as product patches or computer policy changes.
- Utilizes Windows Server, Linux Server, Mobile Iron, Microsoft SQL Server, and Virtual Server technologies such as VMWare in performance of duties.
- Implements and maintains server infrastructure on services such as Azure, AWS and Oracle cloud platforms.
25% Designs, installs, and implements complex server engineering relating to the Microsoft Active Directory and the server infrastructure:
