About the role

Description

The Division of Curriculum and Teaching (C&T) at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education (GSE) invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in STEAM, mathematics, or a related field. The position begins in September 2026. The position requires a doctoral degree in education and/or experience as a K-12 teacher. This faculty member will teach students in Early Childhood to Adolescent Education. We seek a professional with a strong record or demonstrated potential of excellence in teaching and service, and a deep commitment to social justice and urban education. The successful candidate will contribute to the advancement of the Division and the Graduate School of Education through high-quality teaching, program coordination, advising, and collaborative service.   

Position Responsibilities

  • Teach 24 credits per academic year (fall/spring) primarily at Fordham’s Lincoln Center Campus in Manhattan, NY. 
  • Utilize diverse teaching modalities, including in-person, hybrid, synchronous, and asynchronous formats.
  • Participate in admissions and recruitment efforts (e.g., Information Sessions) and review applications. 
  • Serve as Program Coordinator for various programs (e.g., Childhood Education).
  • Recruit, advise, support, and graduate students in various programs.
  • Serve on program, divisional, and GSE committees, as appropriate
  • Collaborate on accreditation activities, including data collection and reporting.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in STEAM, Math, or a related field (ABD will be considered with expected completion by August 2026)
  • At least three years of teaching experience in K-12 education in the area of STEAM, Math or a related field
  • Knowledge of New York State teacher certification requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Holding a valid NYS teacher certification.
  • Experience teaching in teacher preparation education, including online or hybrid modalities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience with diverse learners and urban education contexts.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: STEAM, TESOL, Bilingual Education, Special Education
