Position Summary
Editas Medicine is seeking a Director who will define and lead IT Governance & Compliance initiatives at the company. This includes but is not limited to portfolio management, operational and investment budgets, communication and change management, compliance, and reporting and metrics.
This individual will collaborate/consult with IT Leadership team members and other stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure that IT understands the functions’ strategy and goals in order to identify new or enhanced capabilities and plan relevant investments in technology solutions and services in alignment with corporate goals.
Core Responsibilities
- Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with IT and other function leaders and stakeholders to understand strategy needs and execution plans.
- IT Governance
- Collaborate with FP&A and ITLT to align LRP, Budget, Strategy & Roadmap development and verify that the company is maximizing its investments in systems and business processes.
- Collaborate with IT leadership team to prepare consolidated Strategy, Roadmap and Financial Summary documents.
- Lead development of annual investment portfolio and preparation of IT budget recommendation
- Lead Enterprise IT Investment Committee (IT Governance Forum)
- Establish Partner/Vendor management strategy to elevate vendor/partner performance and value.
- Partner with ITLT to manage the development of statements of work, contracts, managed service and service level agreements with vendors, and strategic sourcing related to their respective portfolios. Establish contract controls and reporting to ensure that contracts are reviewed prior to renewal, that payment dates/frequencies are tracked, and that contracts are renewed subject to appropriate review and approval.
- Compliance
- Leading/managing IT compliance and change management to ensure that IT operates in a manner/controls changes in an environment that ultimately enables safe and secure conduct/management of confidential data… preparation for BLA filing, FDA inspection, etc.
- Assist in the writing and management of controlled processes around systems including validation, change control, electronic signature, and system-specific sysadmin documentation.
- Leads the integration/transition activities of partnerships, M&A, divestitures to ensure seamless integration of service and technology, and achieves synergies.
- Portfolio Management
- Collaborate with ITLT on creation of business cases for IT investments and ensure appropriate communication and reporting on project progress.
- Develop dashboards and reports for internal (to IT) and external (executive and company-wide) performance metrics.
- Establish and lead the Change Control Board / Change Advisory Board, including training and ongoing process improvement.
- Drive program of continuous process improvement and review ROI and service performance to maximize exploitation of current technology capabilities.
- Program / Project Management
- Provide Project Management of critical projects enabling EDIT 301 and other clinical trials, e.g., EDIT301 SharePoint clinical trial site.
- Lead implementation for large programs, e.g., Data Governance, in partnership with sponsors and stakeholder groups
- Provide project management for new systems and services related to governance, compliance, and the business of IT.
- Establish and refine PMO tools and methodologies for Program and Project Management
- Develop and deploy templates and tools to enable IT governance and compliance processes.
- Coach and mentor IT/business PMs in successful delivery of projects
- Continuous Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify and drive planning and execution of business process improvements leveraging Lean Manufac
