For this role, we’re looking for an experienced Senior ELK Administrator who can help execute DevOps activities including job automation and verification tasks in Elasticsearch and Kafka environments. This position will also help with Systems and Database level monitoring and performance, audit, capacity and maintenance activities that our team handles.

What you’ll do:

• Oversee large scale Elasticsearch and Kafka Clusters
• Oversee performance of clusters as we on-board new clients
• Work in AWS, Azure and on-prem systems
• Manage large scale Oracle RAC clusters
• Collaborate with developers and provide insights in Elasticsearch and Kafka
• Follow best practices for availability, security, backup and recovery, and integrity of Elasticsearch, Kafka and other Epsilon databases.
• Actively be a member of the on-call rotation 24 x 7 x 365 support through on-call rotation. Pager duty will be required
• Participate in data store infrastructure and future-state design planning and implementation.
• Understand upcoming software development and plan related database-changes
• Contribute to formulating and documenting company database standards, guidelines, and operational procedures.
• Support users, tune and troubleshoot data access applications and ad hoc queries
• Interact with vendor support to ensure open issues are resolved within defined SLA
• Evaluate new database technologies and products and recommend to technical management
• Provide 24 x 7 x 365 support through on-call rotation

What you’ll bring:

• BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 6 years of database management experience
• Minimum 3 years of recent DevOps experience with Elasticsearch or Kafka
• Experience in Oracle Exadata and Oracle Golden Gate can be a plus
• Proficiency in both Bash and Unix/Linux Shell Scripting
• Strong knowledge of building complex SQL queries
• Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment from a recent position
• Self-starter and be able to perform work with minimal supervisory direction
• Extremely detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
