Job Description:

Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The CDAO Advana team is seeking a Systems Engineer Senior to join their efforts in the DC area.

Advana is the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office’s (CDAO) enterprise-wide, multi-domain data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) platform that provides all DoD military and civilian decision makers, analysts, and builders with unprecedented access to enterprise data, tools, and capabilities.

Duties include:

  • Leads complex systems engineering activities supporting Advana by directing system integration efforts across Unclassified and NIPR, Secret and SIPR, and Top Secret and JWICS enclaves.
  • Strengthen enterprise interoperability and mission alignment. Develops technical requirements packages by analyzing operational workflows, cybersecurity constraints, data-access personas, and cross-domain integration needs relevant to Combatant Commands and Joint Staff mission sets.
  • Conducts structured systems analyses and alternatives-of-analysis evaluations using modeling tools, interface control documentation, architectural frameworks, and engineering review methods to define system designs, performance characteristics, and sustainment recommendations.
  • Guides technical review cycles that validate system engineering baselines, interface definitions, security artifacts, and architectural compliance criteria supporting enclave authorization and operational readiness.
  • Prepares systems engineering artifacts, evaluation findings, risk assessments, and design recommendations aligned with program governance.
  • Coordinates with platform engineering, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, data architecture, and industry vendor teams to resolve integration issues, assess design feasibility, and align system capabilities to evolving mission requirements.
  • Develops engineering processes, configuration standards, and documentation maintained within SharePoint, Confluence, and GitLab repositories to support traceability, auditability, and enterprise continuity.
  • Mentors engineering personnel by strengthening requirements decomposition, modeling practices, and verification methods. Produces authoritative system documentation, design analyses, and engineering decision artifacts that elevate operational resilience, architectural rigor, and enduring program value for the Advana enterprise.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience leading systems engineering within DoD programs
  • IAM II certifications (Security+)
  • TS with SCI eligibility

The likely salary range for this position is $111,155 - $150,385. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
