Description
As the Maintenance Supervisor at Shawmut, you will play a key role in maintaining the efficient and safe operations of our maintenance department. You will serve as a vital communication link between senior management and the maintenance team, ensuring the smooth flow of information. Collaborating closely with team members, this position involves a diverse range of multi-skilled responsibilities related to equipment, repairs, and facility maintenance. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working both efficiently and effectively, will be instrumental to your success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules, work orders, specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
- Receive work orders and review priorities: assign projects to appropriate personnel, review requirements and provide guidance as needed.
- Oversee the location of new equipment and assemble machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation; build or recommend replacement parts as needed through purchase orders and ERP System.
- Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervision; ensure work area(s) and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, that prescribed safety measures are followed, and established company/department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to.
- Respond to emergency situations which may include equipment malfunction requiring troubleshooting and corrective action(s) to resolve situational or mechanical problems, use trade skills to minimize equipment down time.
- As part of the Plant Emergency Team, provide appropriate support as needed to all areas of the plant.
- Monitor preventative maintenance program and ensure work is completed in a satisfactory and timely manner.
- Maintain all aspects and related tasks for plant equipment in the “E-Maintenance” program.
- Contribute suggestions for improving department productivity and efficiency.
- Provide performance support and recommendations to management regarding hiring, disciplinary actions, and wage adjustments.
- Train maintenance mechanics in all areas of their position; ensuring training plans are completed.
- Prepare and maintain records of work performed or other data, reports as required.
- Maintain established quality and quantity standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least 3 years industrial maintenance supervision is required.
- Associate degree or higher in Industrial maintenance or related technical field preferred.
- Proven ability to manage maintenance operations and supervise a diverse team.
- Demonstrated leadership skills along with professional maturity.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Experience managing vendors and oversight of installation and repair activities.
- OSHA certification or knowledge of safety regulations is a plus.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds with the assistance of coworkers as needed.
This position manages staff on all three shifts and will require occasional weekend hours; candidates must be able to have flexibility with their weekly work schedule as needed.
