Classification Minimum Requirements:- Must be a Federal Work Study student.
- Preference for students who have completed at least 1 semester at UF.
Multiple research assistant positions are available in the Rinaldi-Ramos laboratory in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Florida, for undergraduate Federal Work Study Students. Our laboratory is studying novel nanomaterials for diagnostic and theragnostic applications using magnetic particle imaging (MPI), a novel biomedical imaging modality.
The research assistant is expected to be enthusiastic and dedicated to completion of tasks related to laboratory management and project execution.
Assigned tasks will include:
• Performing routine laboratory tasks such as preparing solutions.
• Participating in experimental setup, execution, and clean-up.
• Assisting in data collection, organization, and basic analysis under supervision.
• Documenting procedures and results in accordance with lab standards.
• Helping with inventory management, including tracking supplies and reporting low stock.
• Performing lab maintenance, such as cleaning and organizing workspaces.
• Supporting equipment maintenance by checking for functionality and reporting issues.
Strong organizational and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to work with computers for communication and file organization are essential. No prior research experience is required.
Expected Salary:
$15 per hour
Required Qualifications:- Must be a Federal Work Study student.
- Preference for students who have completed at least 1 semester at UF.
Students majoring in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or medicine) are encouraged to apply.
