Job Description:

Position Summary:


The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, and handling of raw materials and finished goods in a GMP environment, developing / updating Standard Operating Procedures around warehouse operations, troubleshooting issues with warehouse discrepancies and assisting with deviations/CAPAs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inventory control, logistics management, and order fulfillment to meet operational goals.
  • Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
  • Labeling every product and storing in determined locations
  • Processing material requests and work orders
  • Performing cycle counts
  • Packaging and processing outbound shipments
  • Delivery of material using van and truck
  • Operation of material handling equipment, including forklift, pallet jack
  • Maintaining accurate records with proper documentation
  • Ensure all operations comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, particularly those specific to biogenetic materials
  • Communication with internal departments to research and resolve issues/discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure optimal stock levels
  • Manage material expiration dates and implement FIFO inventory logic
  • Responsible to cross reference Purchase Orders to the Material(s), and ensure the warehouse is organized in a responsible fashion
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices
  • Managing inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of products and prevent inventory shrinkage
  • Oversee the day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials, supplies and equipment
  • Ensure all warehouse items are properly labeled, stored, and organized for easy retrieval
  • Oversee warehouse inventory and cycle counts, verifying counts and investigating discrepancies
  • Track the movement of inventory items through the warehouse and within the WMS
  • Maintain detailed documentation of warehouse operations, including receipts, shipments, and inventory logs
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the warehouse environment
  • Implement proper handling and storage procedures for hazardous materials when applicable

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires working in a warehouse. The role requires walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.  The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds independently. 
  • Minimal access to cold and freezer rooms and material required, utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced and ever-changing circumstances.
