Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the department managers and partners in all aspects of business management for assigned clients and entities. The Staff Accountant is further responsible for reviewing the work of the account managers & bookkeepers, providing guidance and maintaining the flow of information to the Managers. This position requires an understanding of accounting principles, technical acumen, a proactive attitude, attention to detail and a collaborative approach.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicates directly with account managers and collaborates with senior team members on various client matters
• Reviews and approves checks daily
• Monitors cash flow management planning, budgeting and expense projections
• Prepares comprehensive client meeting packages
• Prepares monthly and quarterly Fair Market Value reports
• Performs tax preparation for individuals, S& C corporations, LLCs. Clients are entertainers in film, music, productions, professional athletes
• Provides oversight for payment of bills
• Runs balance sheets and income statements monthly
• Review of all deposits
• Performs General ledger maintenance
• Conducts tax planning and compliance activities
• Performs investment review and aggregation
• Reviews contracts
• Tracks and reviews royalties
• Assists with entity structure and formation, including loan out corporations for entertainers
• Assists with debt planning
• Manages risk by reviewing insurance coverage and maintaining coverage
• Coordinates negotiation of real estate and other major asset acquisitions
• Leads year end financial closeout process ensuring timely and accurate payroll submissions for all assigned clients

 

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

• Accounting background (preferred)
• Familiarity with tax laws and regulations (preferred)
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Strong time management skills to meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Ability to express expectations and progress clearly in both written and oral communications
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure
• Critical thinking to identify errors or discrepancies in financial records

 

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred but not required

What We Offer:

We're proud to offer a competitive salary, PTO & paid holidays and 401(k) with match and more. The base salary range for this position is $77,000 to $91,000.   The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
