PURPOSE/OVERVIEW:
Resonate Global Mission, a ministry of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) has an International opening for a Frontier Focused – Rural Ministry Team Member in West Africa. This position will Join an already established ministry team for the purpose of sowing seeds of the gospel in unreached areas.
 
This position will remain open until filled.
 
Salary information is available upon request from CRCNA Human Resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Trekking/Backpacking Ministry
a. Engagement with Local Leaders
i. Establish and maintain positive relationships with a broad spectrum of community leaders, creating an environment of trust where effective ministry can take place.  
b. Scripture Distribution/Relationship building
i. Make print and audio copies of scripture available in remote villages.
ii. Engage directly with village leaders and community members, encouraging them along the way to wrestle with the truth and the relevance of the gospel.    
c. Prayer
i. Pray with/for people who demonstrate a desire to be prayed for in Jesus’ name. 
ii. Participate in times of team prayer, worship, intercession, and discernment.
d. Teaching 
i. At the request of community leaders, develop and/or lead interactive learning sessions that address issues of community interest from a biblical perspective.
e. Community Development
i. Look for opportunities to participate in community development that increases the dignity, unity, and the capacity of local participants.  (i.e. Literacy/  Education, Health/Medical ministry, Economic Development teaching/mentoring, Agricultural Development modeling/teaching.) 

2. Mobilize and develop the potential of the CRCNA in global ministry
a. Provide strategic ministry opportunities for short-term missionaries and interns that help develop their skills in evangelism and cross-cultural ministry.
b. Assist in the recruitment, orientation, mentoring and supervision of volunteers, interns, and new career missionaries. 
c. Participate in support-raising (e.g., prayer, care and financial support) for Resonate ministries by developing and maintaining a network of supporting churches and individuals.
d. Ensure notes of thanks are sent to donors in a timely manner.
e. Educate the CRCNA and others about the needs of the unreached world, encouraging churches everywhere to develop a deeper passion and involvement in global missions.
f. Provide the CRCNA with insight and resources for ministry among minority racial/national/religious groups living in North America about which the missionary has knowledge and expertise.
g. Communicate the nature and value of Resonate’s ministries to the CRCNA and others through written communications, and through preaching/speaking engagements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE:

Qualifications

1. Professing membership in a Christian Reformed congregation, or of a church in ecclesiastical fellowship with the CRCNA, and agreement with the doctrine of the church signified by signing a covenant statement.
2. A solid understanding of scripture, a love for the Gospel, and a heart for the unreached.
3. The ability to interact successfully in cross-cultural contexts.
4. Fluency in English. Capacity to learn French and the local language.
5. Posture of Learning, Patience, Flexibility, and Service.
6. Long-term Perspective: A willingness to consider at least 10 years of service
Education & Experience
1. B.A. in related field is required.
2. Media production experience.
3. Training and experience in cross-cultural ministry preferred
