Job Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing a $200M portfolio of Domestic Soybeans, Export Grains, and Oils & Fats - all used for Food, Feed & Fuel both in the United States and around the World.  The role involves strategic pricing, performance monitoring, and close collaboration with both internal teams and a diverse array of customers, from multinational corporations to local producers. By interpreting complex market data and identifying growth opportunities, the market manager ensures these essential materials reach their destinations efficiently and profitably.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

  • Design, market, and support sales of CSX Transportation services for assigned products
  • Develop yield management and strategic marketing plans based on market research and competitor analysis
  • Collaborate with Sales to create product value propositions
  • Evaluate market trends and monitor key customer or competitor actions
  • Assist with pricing, contracts, and communication materials
  • Lead projects and process improvements for key products
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
  • 3 or more years of experience in product management, marketing, finance, pricing, project management and/or business to business (B2B) sales

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree
  • 5 or more years of experience in product management, B2B marketing, finance, pricing, project management and/or B2B sales

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including data analysis, dynamic reporting, automation, and management of large datasets
  • Preferred proficiency in utilizing Power BI for data analysis, visualization, and dissemination of data-driven insights
  • Strong project management abilities, business acumen, leadership qualities, effective time management, meticulous attention to detail, and capability to work independently as a self-starter
  • Proven skills in process improvement and cross-functional project management
  • Excellent analytical thinking abilities
  • Skilled in developing written documents and presentation materials for diverse audiences; ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority (a writing sample will be required during the interview process)
  • Competence in compiling and presenting comprehensive market and financial data
  • Ability to build rapport and foster relationships with stakeholders at various organizational levels, both internally and externally
