JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Inpatient Rehabilitation team is seeking a collaborative physical therapist who is dedicated to working with complex and neurologically involved patients. This position is a per diem position, with the scheduled time varying depending on patient need and staff time off requests. Anticipate 2-3 days of coverage needed on a given week with increased hours during the holidays. Our inpatient rehabilitation team is a unique group within our health network as the only licensed acute inpatient rehabilitation unit at the UVMHN, with a dynamic and skilled group of teammates providing interdisciplinary care.

Physical therapists diagnose and manage movement dysfunction, enhance physical and functional abilities, and promote optimal quality of life as it relates to movement and health. Physical therapists prevent the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from diseases, disorders, conditions, or injuries. Physical therapists function as an essential member of therapy and multidisciplinary teams providing direct care to patients. They teach and prepare patients/families and caregivers for continued care after discharge. The physical therapist may be involved in consultative services within the organization and in the community. The physical therapist demonstrates dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's of Science or higher degree from an Accredited Physical Therapy program. Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of Vermont.
