Purpose

The purpose of this position it to perform administrative functions, including processing financial documents, to support the day-to-day management of The Empirical Macroeconomic Policy Center of Texas (EMPCT)

Responsibilities

  • Support Co-directors, EMPCT affiliated faculty, pre-doctoral researchers, and invited speakers with administrative requests, such as procurement, contracts, budgeting, and travel authorization and reimbursement.   

  • Coordinate and oversee the annual EMPCT conference: Arrange venue, meals, and refreshments, for the Conference Make travel arrangements for each attendee (usually 20 per conference).

  • Work to submit grants across multiple funding opportunities Support and documentation across all project deliverables Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at either the Administrative Assistant or the Administrative Associate level, or high school graduation or GED, and seven years of clerical experience. Experience with DEFINE, particularly VP1, VP2, VP5, VP6, VP7, and the FRMS system (transfers and point plus). Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working in Workday, Define, and other UT systems. Working knowledge of UT policies and procedures. Demonstrates skills in working effectively with a team, setting appropriate goals and attaining positive results Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to foster a cooperative work environment and develop positive and effective working relationships Independent and self-motivated worker, able to be effective with limited supervision Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English Proactive and solution-oriented work style preferred Ability to be flexible, balancing multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing interests with attention to detail and quality

Hourly Rate

$28.85 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Attire: Business Casual

  • Standard Office Environment, Use of manual dexterity, Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Work Shift

  • Hours per week - 20

  • The work hours are from 8 to 5

  • The actual work schedule is to be discussed and agreed upon with the supervisor
