We are currently seeking a part-time summer intern to join our team. As a research intern, you will work under the guidance and mentorship of a Research Scientist and will optimize and evaluate in vitro functional assays to support innovative therapeutic drug discovery efforts.

This position is a paid, temporary, part-time internship eligible to rising juniors and rising seniors within a commutable distance of La Jolla, California. This role is fully on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Flow cytometry
• ELISA
• Processing of human blood, isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells, specific immune cell subsets, and / or hematopoietic stem cells
• Tissue Cultures

Requirements:
•    This position requires candidates to be rising juniors or rising seniors pursuing the following majors: General Biology, Biological Engineering, Molecular and Cell Biology, Microbiology, or similar and have a minimum GPA of 3.0
•    Experience in life science laboratory classes 
•    Proficiency in MS Office Suite
•    Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decision, and change course of action quickly
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
•    The ability to flex and handle ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced, high growth environment 
•    Passion for personal learning and development, cultural sensitivity, and ability to develop consensus with a multinational organization
•    This position requires that candidates be able to work in the United States on a permanent and on-going basis without sponsorships
•  Candidates are required to live within a commutable distance of La Jolla, CA and be able to work on-site for 20 to 24 hours per week

This is a part-time role of 20-24 hours per week. The hourly rate for this role is from $21.00; actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below this range commensurate with various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, and merit.
