POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting into the Quality Director of Specialty Flavors, the Quality Manager I, Customer Specialty Flavor provides strategic leadership for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the customer intimacy programs for the Americas. This individual will collaborate and influence with the Regulatory, Sales, PD, and Supply Chain functions to create and deliver industry leading service to customers. This role is customer-facing and manages customers predominately in the Americas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership and Deployment of Customer Programs – For the Americas Specialty Flavor facilities, drive development and implementation of customer programs. Provide the structure for communication, prioritization, and risk management to assure MKC programs meet the expectations of internal and external customers and business partners.
- Escalated Issue Consultation and/or Management, prevention. Provide technical support/insight and leadership/partnership to manufacturing facilities and customers on food safety and quality issue resolution using root cause analysis, risk assessment, and market action, leading communication back to the customer, delegating where appropriate.
- Drive Customer Intimacy and Growth – Accountable Partner with account team to ensure food safety and quality are represented as part of customer strategies by partnering with the customer on current programs, audits necessary for customer engagement, new launches and initiatives, QNs, audit support, business meetings, and quality presentations highlighting MKC’s knowledge portfolio. Build awareness and communication between customers and MKC subject matter expertise, industry best practices, trade association knowledge, and technological advancements.
- Training and Development on Quality and Food Safety programs for internal and external partners in Quality, PD, Sales and Customers – Reinforce Quality Culture and development and delivery of Customer and Product knowledge training content to Americas Quality and Supply Chain functions.
- Deliver Business Success and Track Performance – Ensure customer programs and products are measured and managed using data from FTOs, products, sites, gaps to customer standards, QNs, complaints, proficiency test output, scorecards, and specifications, through support of product maintenance, commercialization support, and leadership of quality perspective for the business team.
- Travel expectation from 20-30% to engage with Customers and MKC locations
- Engages Customer, Business Support, Supply Chain, Commercialization, Product Development, Regulatory, and CoE functions as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
- 5 years experience in at least one Quality focus areas (Customer, Operations, Regulatory, Supplier, Global CoE) or related function, including Supply Chain, Product Development
• Investigation and root cause analysis to include problem solving activities with other departments within the organization as appropriate
• Coach, mentor and act as a role model in gaining trust from cross functional staff, peers, management and customers.
- Participation in leadership coursework per appropriate level required
- Certification focused on Quality and Food Safety for Supply Chain requirement: PCQI (or HACCP based on region)
