Our Seguin, TX location is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Intern to join our team.

Project Intern will be working on:

• Perform 5S Audits on monthly basis to 23 production areas and 17 offices/support areas.
• Update SOS and SWI to support training department with correct training to new hires.
• Support with Gemba Cart during Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Gemba Walks.
• Lead and support PVSMs with Jishuken workshops to achieve the LEAN KPIs for 2023.   

Outcome of Project (Goals of what the intern should accomplish):

• Understanding the importance of 5S methodology. Why is important to use it and become more effective.
• Learning how to implement Standardized Work on production lines and the concept of Takt Time.
• Understand the 5 Why tool and deviation management concept during the Gemba Walk.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Scheduled workday is Monday- Friday 8am-5pm (40hrs a week) but Intern must be available for shift rotation for 24/7 production operation.  We will not be able to accommodate any changes to this schedule.
• Must be in good standing and currently enrolled in an accredited university degree program
• Must currently have a GPA of 2.8 or higher to be considered
• Must be a currently enrolled student working towards a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the company
• All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• Must be able to present scope of project

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to stand/climb/stoop/bend/carry up to 28 pounds

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Microsoft Applications
• AutoCAD
