This journalist should feel comfortable working independently but should have the discernment to know when to involve the newsroom’s senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will be a proven leader who loves the energy of breaking news and has a demonstrated knack for spotting trending topics that can turn into coverage that resonates with readers, engages audiences and grows subscriptions.

This journalist must champion diversity and have a demonstrated ability to ensure accurate, comprehensive coverage that reflects the community, with particular care given to ensuring historically underrepresented voices and communities are served.

This editor will play a key role in launching live coverage of breaking news each day and therefore must have excellent collaborative skills. The ideal candidate is a creative, curious, solutions-oriented multitasker with sound news judgment and strong editing/writing skills.
