The Virginia Industries for the Blind is an enterprise division within DBVI. VIB is an accredited affiliate of the National Industries for the Blind and a manufacturer and distributor of products and services provided under the provisions of the Javits-Wagner-O’Day Act and the AbilityOne Program.

We are seeking to fill a Store Manager, Mayport, Fl.

The purpose of the position is to be:

Responsible for:

 

• Reporting directly to the Regional Manager. 
• Coaching and develop employees in your store. 
• Timely communication of direction given by the Regional Manager, area agency employees. 
• Collaborates with peers and leadership team to develop, follow and communicate operational processes for the store. Implements goals and objectives of VIB to promote efficiency of store operations. 
• Fostering strong relations with host commands/organizations to facilitate sales and grow the business proposition and to respond to customer needs and organizational threats in a quick, professional and value adding manner. 
• Helping to develop and meet budget commitments on revenue and expenses through effective personnel and inventory management. 
• Growing the business to help maintain and create employment opportunities for the blind and visually impaired individuals.

Employees hired in these positions will follow the federal holiday schedule and their typical schedule will be Monday - Friday days. However, these positions require the flexibility to work off hours when the Navy requires deliveries outside of our normal work hours. That could include a short period of time over the weekend or on a holiday.

 

Position is located in Mayport, Florida.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience:

• Strong retail management and operations experience.
• Supervisory experience and training new employees.
• Excellent customer service experience.

Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to and use time effectively and efficiently. 
• Ability to manage a diverse workforce. 
• Ability to interpret and apply policies associated with working in a retail environment to include customer service, inventory control, customer requirements, computer system operation and acceptable sources for replenishment. 
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, vendors and agency personnel. 
• Ability to work to increase sales at store while reducing operating expenses. 
• Ability to use Google calendar to manage tasks and schedule. 
• Skill in analyzing, problem solving and exercising good judgment in critical decision making. 
• Good computer skills including Windows application such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power P
