Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

⚡️Your role

Fastned aims to accelerate the transition towards sustainable mobility by giving freedom to electric drivers. As a DevOps Engineer at Fastned, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in AWS services, with a significant advantage if experienced in GitLab CI/CD, Kotlin, and TypeScript.

In this role, you will support a wide range of Fastned products, from our proprietary back office platform Revolt to customer-facing applications such as the Fastned app and charger screens. As a true problem-solver, you will be accountable for the delivery of a well-functioning and cost-effective infrastructure product that will accelerate the teams in delivering their products to our customers. This role is part of the Software team and works as a member of the scrum team with fellow DevOps Engineers, Frontend Engineers, Backend Engineers, Product Owners, Product Designers, and QA.

⚡️Your overall responsibilities include

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure to support the company's applications and services in separate environments (acceptance and production)

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and Helm

• Implement and maintain security best practices for AWS infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes to Kubernetes

• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing and deployment into the software development lifecycle

• Implement monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance of systems

• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventive measures

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, and quality assurance, to achieve seamless integration of DevOps practices

• Provide documentation and knowledge sharing to ensure the transfer of expertise within the team

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS

• Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and AWS services

• Proficiency in GitLab CI/CD for building and deploying applications

• Familiarity with programming, knowledge about Kotlin and TypeScript is a big plus

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

• Scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell

• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and best practices

• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and organized
