Department Summary

System IT is a component of The University of North Texas System. The mission of System IT is simple: to be the best at delivering customer-aligned IT solutions and services. Our services are provided to all member institutions using an IT shared services governance model.

System IT provides the primary technology used by all campuses to support their operations. These include: shared resources of data centers, computing hardware, software applications, network and voice communications, collaboration and productivity capabilities, central web services, risk management, and security and compliance services. Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for developing and managing test strategies for test data, regression testing, and automated testing, focusing on test architecture, re-usability, stability, performance, scalability, accessibility, and related QA metrics. The purpose of this role is to ensure all enterprise applications are compliant with standards and
are documented. The role is required to develop and maintain a bank of automated tests through interviews and observation with functional users, developers, and analysts, which ensure that enterprise standards are met with all business changes and technical upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 1 year of IT quality assurance/testing experience or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

* Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time.
* Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
* Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods, and other computer applications.
* Skill in analyzing and organizing technical data.
* Skill in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
* Skill in monitoring/assessing the performance of self or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
