$17.43 - $24.40The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSEExercises knowledge of University accounting/bookkeeping procedures, sets up and maintains a variety of books of account. Performs related activities such as computation of breakdowns, audits, trouble-shooting, charting and graphing. Processes basic journal entries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews scanned forms and invoices to ensure proper grouping of transactions.
- Determines and confirms appropriate coding and enters data into systems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reviews electronic submission of forms and invoices for completeness and accuracy.
- Re-works any rejects or problems in a timely manner.
- Resolves supplier and department inquiries regarding the payment status of invoices, including researching and providing copies of documentation as necessary.
- Traces errors, records adjustments, follows up, and resolves discrepancies with regard to duplicate payment of invoices and incorrect vendor payments.
- Works with vendors to reconcile vendor statements, including resolving unpaid invoices and unapplied credits.
- Prepares vouchers and journal entries as necessary.
- Resolves departmental and vendor inquiries by phone calls, emails, and faxes timely and professionally.
- Follows up, including activities such as confirming invoices/credits have been processed and journal entries have posted, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Files invoices and other documentation that must be referenced later.
- Prepares documents for scanning and/or handling by those next in the process.
- Cleans up file, including investigation of invoices in multiple systems and follow up with departments and vendors.
- Sorts incoming mail into appropriate groups to expedite payment processing.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma and 1 year of related experience required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to thrive in a high-volume work environment required
Excellent customer service skills required
Superior organization skills required
PC experience (Excel, Outlook, Word) preferred
