SUMMARY:
NoTrax, a Justrite Safety Group company, is looking for a Foam/Assembly Supervisor (2nd shift) for their Moselle, MS operations. Oversees and supervises the daily activities of the Assembly area and Foam Oven Line in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work. This area Supervisor has a high degree of interaction with all area Supervisors, Purchasing Department, Production Scheduler, Quality Control Manager, and Engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees in the Assembly Area and Foam Oven Line to achieve departmental quality, quantity, service, cost, and safety goals.
- Assigns each area their daily tasks and prioritizes workflow.
- Performs maintenance check on equipment in accordance with ISO Preventative Maintenance Schedule and when necessary, initiate request for repairs. Must be familiar with all equipment in the areas and the basic mechanics of them.
- Reviews ISO defect matrixes, NCRs, and daily Production Reports for the areas.
- Operates forklift, when necessary.
- Required to learn and be capable of performing every job in his area and understand the inter-relationship of those duties within the department.
- Instructs and supervises training of employees, temporary labor, and cross training of employees, in the performance of their job in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintains good employee relations and adherence to company policies, safety standards, and takes proper disciplinary measures when required.
- Prepares and maintains employee records such as vacation requests, performance evaluations, and schedules overtime work as needed.
- Initiates and maintains accurate records and reports (i.e., daily reports, purchase requisitions, work orders, injury reports, and special projects).
- Observes all safety, environmental and quality control procedures, and good housekeeping practices.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school education or equivalent, associate degree preferred.
- 3-5 years previous supervisory experience required.
- General knowledge of plastics material and processes.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through formalized training and/or practical hands-on experience in military/industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated, well-organized, good problem-solving skills, effective as a team builder and able to coordinate multi and changing priorities.
- Satisfactorily pass in-company forklift driver training program
- Ability to use a computer, crescent wrench, micrometers, tape measure, channel locks, screwdriver, utility knives, tachometer, scale, calculator, and forklift.
Physical Demands
Rarely lifts, carries, pushes, pulls, sits, reclines, crouches, squats, kneels, twists, climbs, balances, crawls, reaches horizontally, reaches below the waist, reaches above shoulders, or uses manual dexterity. Frequently stands and walks.
Working Conditions
Rarely deals with the outside, low humidity, wetness, slippery surfaces, moving objects, vibration, confined space, high elevation, chemical irritant, oil, odors, explosives, electrical hazards, or toxic conditions. Occasionally deals with low temperature, high temperature, high humidity, and noise. Frequently deals with the inside.
