Summary
The Montgomery County Department of Parks, Horticulture, Forestry and Environmental Education Division is currently seeking applicants to fill several seasonal/part-time intermittent instructor positions. We are looking for instructors with a background in a specific skill area including fitness, dance, yoga, and outdoor recreation to join our team. Classes will be held in parks county-wide. The ideal candidate can work independently, is energetic and enjoys teaching in an indoor and outdoor environment.

Examples of duties
Develops and delivers interpretive and recreation programs and events.
Works collaboratively with other staff members to design and implement new programs that serve the community.
Implements recreation classes that engage and educate participants by providing instruction, supervision and skill set.
Provides and outlines lesson plans and descriptions for proposed classes and programs.
Ensures an inviting, positive, and safe environment.
Communicates effectively with program coordinator and class participants.
Maintains communication with class participants.
Qualifications
Two years of experience in skill area or specialized education and training in skill.
Ability to demonstrate and perform in skill area.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Must hold a valid certification in discipline/field.
Must be able to work daytime and evenings.
Must have a valid CPR/First Aid certification.
Must be able to pass FBI and MD background check.
Ability to communicate in another language a plus.

Working Conditions
Flexible work schedule. Hours per week is dependent on instructor availability.
Classes may be offered on a quarterly basis and generally scheduled up to four months in advance.
Primarily working outside in a park setting or inside a Park Activity Building.
