Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

• Expertise in writing and editing communications for a variety of channels and coordinating employee

communications in a corporate environment.

 

• Creating and implementing strategic communications plans.

 

• Conducting research and analysis to prepare messages and communications documents.

 

• Developing and editing corporate messages intended to disseminate important information to Aflac employees.

 

• Project management.

 

• Strong influence, oral and written communication skills.

 

• Knowledge of communication principles and practices

 

• Microsoft Excel: Intermediate

 

• Microsoft Word: Intermediate

 

• Microsoft PowerPoint: Intermediate

 

• Intermediate knowledge of HR policies, state and federal laws

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree Communications, journalism, English, human resources or a business-related field
  • 6+ years of work related experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and implement strategies that improve how employees receive and process information, ensuring clarity, engagement, and alignment with company goals.

 

• Create comprehensive communication plans for cultural office and human resources.

 

• Partner with business units to produce materials such as emails, guides, videos and intranet articles that promote Aflac’s benefits and services to internal customers.

 

• Apply comprehensive understanding of audience segments to create impactful messaging and identify appropriate platforms (e.g., digital signage, intranet, print, social media, video).

 

• Write, edit and publish content on the employee intranet as a primary content creator.

 

• Develop, edit and publish employee communications that support HR and the organization; review corporate policies and procedures for clarity and conciseness; ensure that all communications are accurate, appropriate and grammatically correct.

 

• Serve as gatekeeper for deployment of communications to the workforce.

 

• Manage projects and project plans; execute and advance to resolve any variances and provide accurate communication to stakeholders.
