Purpose

This position will help ensure accuracy of expenditures and administrative processes in the Office of the Dean of Students. This analyst will provide review of data, forecasting, and consultation for departmental leadership in decision-making around finances and Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budgets for the Office of the Dean of Students and provide analysis, audits, and forecasts related to spending.

  • Monitor expenditures, reconcile financial records, and ensure compliance with university policies, state and federal regulations, and grant requirements.

  • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to leadership. Serve as a financial consultant to department leadership.

  • Assist in HR processes and serve as a liaison to the director of Human Resources in the Division of Student Affairs.

  • Manage position funding allocations, salary planning, and workforce planning.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Experience in financial management, budgeting, or accounting, preferably in higher education or a complex organizational setting. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations. Proficiency in financial reporting systems and spreadsheets, including UT systems. Communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supervising administrative staff. Master’s degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field. Experience in budget planning and financial operations. Knowledge of fund accounting, grants management, and higher education financial regulations. Familiarity with financial software such as PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar platforms.

Hourly Rate

$35

Work Shift

  • M-F; 8 am - 5 pm - There may be opportunities to flex hours and/or work remote.
