Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- 5+ years of Inventory Management experience.
Job Summary
Assist the department manager with leadership activities including but not limited to mentoring, workload coverage, and other inventory management activities. Oversee purchasing of recommended products-based patterns to fulfill inventory needs of a branch.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Oversees Inventory Study reports, evaluates usage trends, and makes recommendations for purchases to General Manager. Meets with General Manager to align recommendations and gain approval for purchase.
- Places order with mill, communicates ETA to General Manager and Account Managers, creates Goods Receiving Note, confirms receipt of materials in alignment with warehouse and ensures all PO lines are closed out timely.
- Leads daily cycle count process, performs variance research as needed and makes necessary adjustments to balance inventory.
- Manages and oversees quarterly inventory process and the completion of Pre-Inventory Checklist. Performs necessary variance research and makes adjustments to balance inventory while working with General Manager and Operations Manager to document variance notes.
- Tracks and recommends rolls that may be returned. Works with Mill, Accounts Payable and CSC to ensure return was processed and cleared.
- Leads miscellaneous inventory transactions including return to stock, bin transfers within the system, pricing adjustments and accounts payable issue resolutions.
- Supports sales team with ETAs, Specials and inventory related questions.
Nature and Scope
- Problems are typically difficult and/or high impact. Troubleshoots complex support or operational problems for junior level associates.
- Under limited supervision, independently resolves issues and applies a variety of methods to develop customized solutions. May lead the daily operations of a department or team. Work typically involves infrequent review of output by a supervisor or direct customers of the process.
- Assists with supervisory duties but does not have hiring/firing authority. Trains, delegates tasks, and reviews the work of junior level associates.
Work Environment
- Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
- No travel required.
Education and Experience
- Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas. Generally 7+ years of experience in area of responsibility.
