The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:

 

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Lead, Contractor Safety at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.

 

Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Location

Copper Mountain Mine, is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.  Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

 

Summary

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Lead, Contractor Safety is responsible for supporting the health and safety of contractors at the site. The Lead, Contractor Safety will develop and implement contractor management systems, along with providing technical expertise on the contractor management program.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and sustain the contractor safety management program,
• Facilitation of risk assessments in alignment with the Fatal Risk Control Strategy,
• Facilitation of training as it applies to contractor management for various stakeholders,
• Support all departments in the integration of contractor management systems,
• Ensure contractor adherence to Health, Safety, Environment, and Community
