Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

The Small Commercial Agency Compensation team partners with Sales leadership and key business partners to strategize and manage the overall compensation philosophy ensuring alignment with profitable, sustainable growth, maintaining a competitive cost structure, driving execution of strategic
plans and monitoring of result.

As a Sr Manager, Financial Analysis, you will lead the design, modeling, and evaluation of incentive deals to ensure economic viability and proactively identify trends and impacts to inform business decisions. You will act as a subject matter expert on agency compensation and leverage strong business acumen and financial skills to advise on the development of optimal outcomes in managing over half a billion dollars in commissions expense. This position may coach and mentor other team members.

What Will You Do?

  • Support Sales leadership by engaging key stakeholders (Product, Actuarial, Agency Comp, Legal, Enterprise Distribution Management, etc.) and evaluating incentive deals to ensure economic viability.
  • Create meaningful results reporting to provide insights and drive decision making while proactively communicating with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to create the Commission Plan and support buildout of Multi Year Plan framework.
  • Oversee execution of desired commission deals to ensure accuracy and timeliness of contracts and commission tables.
  • Support strategic initiatives which may include collaboration with matrix partners to enable best practices to effectively leverage incentives, evaluation and analysis to advance efforts to achieve competitive cost structure, and enhance best practices to drive efficiency.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and validate complex financial and operational reports focusing on improving the process of completing these tasks and the effectiveness of the content delivered while ensuring accuracy and help synthesizing data into impactful observations.
  • Review team members’ reports and provide feedback on accuracy and presentation.
  • Perform analysis of trends and variances in business performance against broad business objective.
  • Perform testing and validation of data and analyses with a strong understanding and ability to communicate data limitations and gaps.
  • Prepare and present financial insights to financial leaders and/or functional teams, answering most questions.
  • Manage the creation of complex analyses to support business strategy.
  • Review competitor press releases, SEC filings, and industry trade press for helpful insights, linking key themes together and identifying applicability to departmental strategies.
  • Participate and/or lead in projects that involve complex analysis and implementation of non-complex, routine business and financial regulatory changes relating to financial reporting, such as reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring.
  • If a manager of people, effectively oversee and engage direct reports and perform management activities such as performance management, career development, and talent acquisition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in finance or accounting or professional designations such as CPA, CMA or comparable advanced professional education.
  • Experience with Financial Analysis concepts, principles and processes and accounting practices and principles.
