POSITION OVERVIEW
Global Atlantic Financial Company (a subsidiary of Global Atlantic Financial Group Limited) is seeking a candidate for the position of Associate Data Architect. Responsibilities include:
- Associate Data Architect in the Data Engineering team, responsible for building architecture and providing solutions for the business.
- Design and develop enterprise data and data architecture solutions using Java, J2EE, Hadoop and other data technologies like Spark, Scala, Python, and SQL.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Devise and execute continual improvement initiatives in all Data Management Service delivery and technology, with a focus on delivery velocity and quality.
- Partner with business leaders to determine and prioritize delivery initiatives.
- Define or influence system, technical and application architectures for major areas of development.
- Devise and execute in software development life cycle including requirements gathering, development, testing, release management, and maintenance.
- Engage with business partners to report (formally and informally) on technology strengths, weaknesses, successes and challenges on a regular basis.
- Perform analytical programming in Enterprise Dataware house (EDH) architecture to bridge the gap between a traditional database architecture and a Hadoop centric architecture.
- Ensure appropriate change management and other technology methodologies are carried out on a consistent basis over time.
- Responsible for design and delivery of data solutions to empower data migration initiatives, business intelligence initiatives, and dashboards development.
- Take care of data requirements, such as addressing ad hoc requests in a timely and professional manner for Risk and Finance division and coordinating with business stakeholders.
- The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $168,854 to $209,309.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field plus ten (10) years of experience in an information technology related role.
- Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience in each of the following:
- Working in the areas of Data Management, Business intelligence Architecture, Product Development, Relational Database management systems (RDBMS), and non-RDBMS platforms.
- Recognizing data patterns and troubleshooting the data.
