Principal Software Engineering Manager – Microsoft 365 Copilot Growth

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high-performing team of software engineers across varying levels and backgrounds, coaching for impact, inclusion, and career growth.
• Own the engineering roadmap for our acquisition engine, balancing rapid hypothesis testing with durable platform investments.
• Drive developer productivity with AI‑assisted and agentic practices, while elevating engineering standards of accelerating velocity and ensuring reliability.
• Ship data-driven experiments that improve funnel metrics in close partnership with PM, Design, Data Science and Research.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of people management experience leading software engineers, with evidence of hiring, coaching, and performance development.
• 2+ years of experience scaling developer productivity (AI‑agentic coding, CI/CD automation, test strategy, observability, reliability/SRE).
• 3+ years of experience architecting distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, and telemetry.
