Quality Assurance Manager

Company Description

The QA Manager supports the development, implementation, management, and execution of product quality surveillance and reporting for Red Bull North America while supporting Global Quality Management on resolution management. You will support the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and Safe Foods for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) compliance. You will work cross-functionally with team members within Operations and with other business stakeholders including Regulatory, Legal, Communications, and Sales & Distribution. You will report to the Director of Quality Assurance and collaborate with a Quality Assurance Coordinator who manages Red Bull North America’s consumer complaint program.

Job Description

PRODUCT QUALITY MANAGEMENT

Support all product quality management activity for Red Bull North America in the US market including surveillance, reporting, management, and resolution.

Take part in receiving, assessment, reporting, and management of complaints.

Collaborate with other RBNA QA team members in working with Red Bull Global Quality Management team to report product quality issues and development of action plans for resolution.

Participate in quality related special projects with local supply chain partners.

Help develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders including Operations, Regulatory, Legal, Communications and Sales & Distribution.

Participate in implementation of 3rd party food safety audits for owned warehouse locations.

Collaborate with business partners to track and report all product quality issues and escalate.

Support execution of the consumer complaint program (QA Coordinator performs daily management).

FSMA / SFCR REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

Support RB compliance with applicable FSMA and SFCR requirements

Develop knowledge of Red Bull Canada’s SFCR Preventive Controls Plan (PCP).

Work with Global Quality Management to ensure documented procedures are accurate and up to date.

Track relevant current and upcoming food safety related regulations and inform local and Global key stakeholders Support Red Bull North America and Red Bull Distribution Company FDA food facility registrations.

Support Red Bull North America US State Beverage License program

RETAIL CUSTOMER REQUESTS

Support fulfillment of quality related customer requests such as customer questionnaires, specification sheets, audit certificates and reports, ingredient/nutrition facts certificates.

Work directly with Global Quality Management to request and manage customer requests according to customer deadlines.

Ensure requesting party (RBNA Sales and customer accounts) clearly understands guidelines on information that can and cannot be provided and expected turn- around times for receiving requested information or documents.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Science or related field

5 years of quality management experience in the food / CPG industry

Understanding of HACCP and US/Canada food safety regulations including the Food Safety Modernization Act and Safe Foods for Canadians Regulations.

Must have PCQI training or candidate for certification.

Training implementing GFSI 3rd party audit schemes in a warehouse facility.

Build relationships and interact with cross-functional leadership team members.

Experience with confidentiality requirements as it relates to quality issues and communications.

Previous experience with support of a consumer complaint program

Previous experience managing one or more team members.
