Purpose

This position will perform essential functions to assist with onboarding new physicians and advanced practice providers (APP) who join UTHA, as well as ensuring completion of continued education and training required.

Responsibilities

Provider Orientation and On-boarding

• Help develop and implement on-boarding strategy 

• Help develop standardized and role specific employee orientation materials

• Acts as resource person to assist clinical employees in successfully completing job-specific orientation

Staff Development

• Assess, implement, and update clinical staff development and competency evaluations using adult learning principles

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting required training and in-service programming to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws

• Continuously evaluates clinical staff development and training programs and participant feedback. Coordinates internal or external training programs/vendors as assigned

• Ensure site follows HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, State and Federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Coordinate with senior staff for quality and compliance. Manage point of care testing (laboratory) compliance and regulations, nursing care quality, and medical record documentation for compliance.

• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.

• Other related functions as assigned.

Program Evaluation

• Participate in quality audits and clinical policy and procedure review. Ensures new policies and procedures, guidelines, or other updates are updated within clinical onboarding and training programs.

• Collaborate with medical staff office to maintain up-to-date personnel files with each employee’s educational information, clinical licensure and certifications, immunization records and continuing education requirements at onboarding and throughout employment

• Monitor and evaluate staff for compliance with safety mandates, infection control, and policies on workplace safety

• Act as resource person to assist clinical employees in successfully completing job-specific orientation

• Assist in planning, coordinating and conducting required training and in-service programming

• Participate in performance improvement plans as needed for retraining

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years healthcare training experience. Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-physician practice environment; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors of Science in Nursing with at least 5 years of clinical nursing experience. Active Texas (multi-state) RN licensure in good standing.  A good understanding of the care ecosystem in Travis County around social services, transportation, etc. is a plus. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Additional certifications such as: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT); Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and proof of current membership from National Health career Association (NHA); National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT).

Salary Range

$70,000+ depending on qualifications
