As a Utility Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient design and improvement of site utility systems to support our Transportation and Aviation projects. These utility systems will encompass water, sanitary sewer, electricity, gas, telecommunications, and other essential services required to meet site development needs. You will lead utility-related projects, including upgrades, expansions, installations, and conflict analysis/coordination, from inception to completion and be responsible for utility-owner coordination and permit applications. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing utility usage, enhancing sustainability, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

As the Sr. Utility Design Engineer, you will:
- Function as Design Task Leader on small, moderate, and large multi-disciplined projects and ensure adherence to company and project contractual requirements.
- Conduct inspections of utility systems to identify issues.
- Design a complete project, system, component, or process. Prepare project plans, technical specifications, and reports. Develop pressure calculations for sanitary sewer force mains, lift stations, and water systems.
- Provide senior-level technical guidance to the Infrastructure Team, including project development direction to meet target financial performance and revenue metrics.
- Act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to utility design.
- Direct and check the work of other staff on the Infrastructure Team.
- Analyze and interpret data. Perform analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and design layouts.
- Apply advanced knowledge and expertise to resolve complex issues and/or unique challenges.
- Perform quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones. Perform as-needed field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects to maintain and increase understanding of construction practices and design applications.
- Maintain professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements.
- Remain knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to utility management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (Texas Administrative Code) and similar guidelines related to utility management.
- Recommend operational strategies and plans with direct impact on results.
Qualifications:
- ABET accredited Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Civil Utility Design.
- Texas PE licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months of starting.
- Effective team-focused associate that will foster teamwork, help set priorities and provide direction to production associates.
- Strong record of leading design teams
- Requires communication with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance.
