Job Description
Join our dynamic team in Waltham, MA, as a Senior Research Associate focused on Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody generation. Leverage your expertise in molecular biology approaches within our B-cell cloning and hybridoma platforms to contribute to the successful and timely delivery of rabbit monoclonal antibody projects, meeting high standards for both customers and our product catalog.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct a variety of molecular biology experiments, including mRNA extraction, PCR experiments, vector linearization, transformation, and plasmid miniprep, to generate recombination antibodies.
- Send, receive, and analyze DNA sequencing results to ensure the quality and integrity of genetic materials used in antibody generation projects.
- Maintain and transfect cells for efficient antibody expression, contributing to the success of antibody projects.
- Actively contribute to ongoing process and technology improvements, staying abreast of industry advancements and implementing best practices.
- Work closely with Research Associate scientists and project stakeholders to facilitate smooth project progress, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Collate and analyze experiment results, updating experimental information on the internal database to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Uphold high-quality standards within the lab, ensuring compliance with both external and internal quality standards, and maintaining adherence to all health and safety guidelines. Additionally, manage and regularly maintain instruments, equipment, and inventory to support a well-functioning laboratory environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Senior Research Associate - Antibody Generation position holds a Master’s degree in biology or a related field, demonstrating a strong academic foundation. The candidate should possess hands-on experience in key molecular biology techniques, including PCR, plasmid prep, transformation, transfection, and plasmid construction. Prior experience with antibody sequence analysis is highly preferred. The successful candidate will showcase solid organizational skills, demonstrating a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
