Senior Project Manager GPO (f/m/d)

This is an exciting position in our Global Product Organization (GPO) and you will be able to perform excellence in a Technical Program Management environment as an individual contributor position. In some cases, you may even lead a small team.

YOUR ROLE

Business / Project execution:

a) acts as the Project life cycle owner which includes activities till Product Platform readiness (TDP/ADP); brings strategy and holistic approach by consolidating and cascading the activities breakdown to competency Leaders

b) responsible to achieve flawless launches – full ownership to deliver end to end programs on time, with quality and in charge of profitability; the ownership over:

• overall project plan including project schedule

• scheduling TDP/ADP Design Reviews,

• Risk Management Plan,

• TDP/ADP Project Reviews,

• Open Issue List,

• change points management,

• project organization chart,

• conducting weekly cross-functional project meetings,

• industrialization / manufacturing and supplier readiness

c) leads projects in line with company specified methodology related to TDP/ADP projects

d) consolidates reporting on program statuses, from various data sources, for Aptiv Leadership and internal / external customers

Cost and budget:

• accountable of profitability achievement for their assigned business, profit management, including: project financials, BOM targets, change governance, Build budget for BBP cycle (Resource demand, Capital expense, material, credits)

• CAPEX planning and tracking of spend and contribution

• secures appropriation requests’ approvals on time for project execution

• owns Budget Planning

Customer relationships:

• acts as the internal and external customer contact for regular management communication and escalation

• interfaces for product’s scope and timing related aspects

• responsible for multiple customers and complex product

• responsible for understanding technology roadmap and building relationships with key customers;  being a “Voice of the Customer”

• facilitates issue resolution together with competency Leaders for win-win solutions – this also includes preventive escalation, internal & external.

New business:

a. supports new business development activities; drive Initial Project Plan: timing plan, risk assessment and change points activities for new quotes

b. sets up the project in accordance with the APTIV standard project management procedures / playbook. It includes:

• timing and gates

• governance

• program organization

• staffing plan

• risk management

• KPIs and dashboards.

Continuous Improvement:

• supports enterprise effectiveness/efficiency and lean functional excellence by Lean / I&CIM techniques

People Management:

• partners with Supervisors of Functional Leaders (matrix reporting) to support Leaders’ performance evaluation and development

• communicates organization goals and commitments

• plays a critical role as coach and mentor to develop less-experience team members

• monitors and takes actions on project capacity resource management (planning, tracking, anticipating needs, escalating gaps – in partnership with Functional Leaders)

Compliance:

• responsible for complying to standards, policies and procedures, TDP/ADP requirements,

• supports relevant assessments

• maintains required documentation and reporting

YOUR BACKGROUND

• MSc or PhD degree in engineering

• 10+ Year in Automotive industry

• 5+ year in ADAS domain

• Excellent communication skills, including coaching and mentoring skills

• Strong negotiations skills in order to consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances. Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.

• Ability to approach the challenges and making the decision with sense of urgency

• Track record of full project execution from kick-off to SOP

• Proven records of successful Customer front-end & project experience (2-3 projects)

• Understanding of PDP process

• Understanding of ASPICE compliance

• Team oriented

• Methodical approach to problem solving 

• Deep Technical knowledge in the ADAS domain
