POSITION SUMMARY:

Inspired and led by ASU’s charter, the ASU Preparatory (ASUP) Product Team’s goal is to build learning experiences that significantly improve student performance and provide access to educational pathways that enable a better life. The learning platform and full suite of next-generation courses on the ASUP roadmap will leverage adaptive technologies to meet students where they are with fully personalized learning and individualized pacing. Additionally, these products will feature entirely custom experiential learning environments that are built leveraging the most engaging and immersive technologies to design a discovery-based, learner outcome-centered, approach. Drawing from ASU’s culture of innovation, the ASU Prep Product team is creating the future of learning.

We are looking for a creative, organized, driven, and empathetic Product Manager to join our product development team. This role will work with the product management, content, design, engineering, data, and UX teams to ideate, innovate and manage the development of ASU’s next generation of learning products for ASU Prep Digital and ASU Preparatory Academy, specifically the Learning Cloud product suite. Our product development team is passionate about improving outcomes for students and disrupting the education space, but we also try to have a little fun while doing it! We are looking for someone who is very organized, has experience in the platform or product development space, has experience creating decks/communications for leadership and has experience working as part of a remote team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, UX, Computer Science or related field, required
  • Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Two (2) years of product management or related experience, required, five (5) or more years preferred
  • Two (2) years demonstrated experience working around SDLC and Software Development concepts is preferred
  • Experience in writing, including demonstrated experience writing feature requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and sales enablement resources required
  • Experience in education industry preferred, but not required
  • Experience working cross-functionally within a product development team (i.e. Product Owners, UX, Engineering, QA, etc) is required
  • Experience working in a SCRUM environment or proven knowledge of the SCRUM processes is a plus
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consult with stakeholders (admins, curriculum specialists, partners, teachers, students, parents) to identify and document business needs, objectives, and evaluate alternative features.
  • Conduct user research and user listening efforts, assist in user testing, gather qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision-making; request data/reports to analyze platform/course usage to develop new/modified features.
  • Write user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria for new features and updates; gather and maintain user requirements for modified platform features.
  • Help manage and prioritize platform development feature backlog; study existing use cases to evaluate platform effectiveness and develop improvements.
  • Collaborate with UX and engineering teams, provide assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing features/procedures, and participate in solutioning discussions. Consult and coordinate with UX and engineering to design, develop, and test feature prototypes.
  • Track and document changes to user requirements; monitor and document post-implementation user problems and revision requests.
  • Prepare and maintain product status reports and schedules; track milestones and deliverables, critical paths and dependencies; reassess expectations as needed in consideration of sprint progress and outcomes.
